“Every work is an open system: it comes to life in the viewer’s gesture, in the act of rotating, composing, reinventing. Where one form surfaces, another already fades.”

02 - About

Between play and myth

Born in Rome and trained at the New York Academy of Art (MFA, 1999), Camilla Ancilotto moves between painting and sculpture with a single obsession: the transformable image. Her rotating parallelepipeds and Tangram-inspired modules turn the classical canon into a game the public is invited to play.

Her work has been shown at the 55th Venice Biennale, is part of the permanent collections of Miami Dade College and the National Museum of Ravenna, and has travelled from the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi to the Los Angeles Art Show, Art Basel Miami and Tokyo. In 2025 she won the First Prize for Sculpture at the 6th Genoa Biennale.
